And We’re Off…Almost

March 23, 2009

As I previously alluded to, we are in the process of moving back to the US. Before returning, we decided to take about 6 months off to travel. I’ve been meaning to post my plans sooner, but time has just flown by in 2009. The movers are coming on Monday, the apartment cleaners are coming on Tuesday and we’re handing over the apartment on Wednesday and then flying to Johannesburg, South Africa! There is so much going on.

Since the movers are coming tomorrow, that means we won’t have internet access until…who knows? Here are our upcoming plans.

  • A few days in Johannesburg, SA
  • A few days in Cape Town, SA
  • 20-day camping safari tour going on the following route
  • A couple weeks in Kenya and Tanzania
  • A few days in Cairo, Egypt

From Africa, we are flying back to the US for my best friend Kate’s wedding. I’m so excited and happy for her!

Two days after the wedding, we will be heading out again. The very flexible itinerary is:

  • A few days in Fiji
  • A couple weeks in New Zealand
  • A month in Australia in a camper
  • Two months in Southeast Asia – starting in Bali and ending in Bangkok
  • A month in northern India

We fly back to the US at the end of September and move to Cincinnati, OH. After planning to move to San Francisco since around March 2008, we found out in January that that was no longer working out due to the current economy. So, we’ll be buckeyes! Unless we live on the Kentucky side…there is too far in the future to think about.

So, in a couple days, we’re off on our adventure. We’ll try to update as much as possible.

    Wow, I am jealous!!

If you have any questions about Cincinnati, I am a born and raised Cincy girl and most of my family still live there.

Wow, that camping trip through southern Africa should be exciting. Make sure Josh keeps the lions at bay. Enjoy your trip. I’ll be checking in from time to time to keep up with your trip.
